Cows, pigs, sheep, etc, I know those are for meat, milk, wool, but horses?

Let’s say that you get life insurance and claim to be a non-smoker. Then let’s say that you start smoking or resume smoking. Assuming that your medical records show that you smoked, will most life insurance companies check your records, see that you smoked, and then cancel your benefit?

Do they send a letter letting you know? or it just stops? and what if you wanted to end it before you receive the full amount, do you just stop sending back the form? do they call you or mail you if you stop sending it? how does the process go?
