I have been looking at the WS tsunami 170 pro. A transistional touring boat. But there are so many choices out there.I’m looking to paddle Glacier and Resurection Bay in Alaska for 2 - 4 weeks.And am also interested in a trip to Isle Royal in Lake Superior.I live in the Pacific North West and of course will want a good weekender.I am 5′ 8″ and 200 lbs. 10 inch shoe and with mediocre kayak paddling skills.This is a one time one boat purchase and I dont want to have to keep upgrading like I have with backpacking equipment. Much of the reviews on the internet are simply plugs for certain brands or fishing trips for reviews.Someone out there has taken the trips I’m aiming for. Please help !! I’ve tried some at local retailers but feel I’m always being fitted for there selection only.And I dont believe you can really know a boat in a few hours. Thanx

I am in college, and would be going with other guys my age I have the gear and the boats, I am looking for trips suggestions. I am thinking last week of May/first week of June, for a max of ten days. I want to stay under twenty miles per day and A cool spot to stay for a couple of days and do short day excursions from would be a plus. I have tents, four to five places in sea kayaks, camp stoves, etc. etc. I have sp,e stuff for a good inland dayhike, if you have any suggestions for one. I want to be camping on islands and in remote places, not beach hopping from town to town

I want to build a super light tandem kayak. My choice of materials is carbon fiber. I figured getting a boat plan is easy enough, but didn’t want to get in over my head trying to use carbon fiber. I currently paddle a carbon/kevlar single.

Ok, I usually work out monday wednesday and friday. Well, today is monday and I am supposed to work on building my chest muscles. However, we have a school canoe trip scheduled tommorrow starting at 8 AM and ending at around 2 PM.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea for me to still work out today? I will probably have sore chest muscles tommorrow, but I don’t want to work them even more, as that could to more damage.

back is out of the question because I’m still sore from friday, and I would be using my biceps and triceps for canoeing tommorrow.

What should I do? Work out today, or hold off?
